Salesforce.com to buy GoInstant for $70m

Salesforce.com is reportedly poised to continue its spending spree following weeks of snapping up high-profile social enterprise-related firms and is moving on to GoInstant.

People "familiar with the matter" say the company could sell for a price tag of thereabouts $70 million and upwards.

GoInstant was founded in 2010 and raised $1.7 million in seed financing from investors at LinkedIn and Facebook. According to its company pages, the firm has only a dozen employees.

The Nova Scotia-based company offers "no download" software to allow people in distant physical locations to browse websites together, offering a "co-browsing" experience.

The company markets the software as particularly useful for sales calls and customer service, though a league away from actual screen sharing.

In the last few weeks, Salesforce.com has been splashing the cash around since the Microsoft--Yammer affair. Following months of reported flirting, the two companies partnered up.

The social enterprise giant bought out Buddy Media. A fortnight later, Salesforce.com announced a global alliance with Twitter to enable access to public tweets in real time. ChoicePass was next. Following that chunky acquisition, group communications provider Thinkfuse was next on the list.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM goes mobile with iOS, Android, BlackBerry apps

Microsoft announced the next update to its customer relationship management product Microsoft Dynamics CRM will include a new native mobile client for iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Phone 7.

The new Microsoft Dynamics CRM will bring a cloud-based mobile CRM service that communicates with these native CRM apps for smartphones and tablets to give them the huge volumes of data and important customer graphs and metrics that are available to desktop users.

The applications allow users to access Dynamics CRM either remotely or on-premise, and include offline syncing functionality so users can keep their customer data handy even when their data connection is severed, like when they're on an airplane.

The mobile service is centrally managed, and administrators can configure the record types, forms, views, offline synchronization rules and navigation structure for the mobile application. Admins even have the ability to remotely wipe all of the CRM data from the mobile device if it's lost, stolen, or simply loaded onto the user's personal device.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Mobile will cost $30 per user per month, and each user license includes three simultaneous mobile installs.
